Assistance League of Houston is proud to announce the celebration of
our 40th year serving the Houston community.
Assistance League of Houston:
- A chapter of Assistance League, a national nonprofit organization with over 24,000 members and 117 chapters and guilds nationwide
- An all volunteer organization with nearly 300 members, giving over 20,000 hours each year and returning to the public an average of more than 80% of funds raised
Assistance League of Houston:
- Clothes children
- 2,257 children in Spring Branch and Houston Independent School Districts were given school uniforms through our Operation School Bell program.
- 500 layette sets were given to Harris County Hospital District for distribution to women completing child development classes.
- Cares for children
- 2180 children watched puppet shows dealing with current topics including bullying, healthy eating habits and water safety through our Kids on the Block program.
- Educates children
- Cares for Families in Crisis
- 32 families at Texas Children’s Hospital were provided with a merrier holiday season through the distribution of more than $16,000 in food and gift cards.
- 500 Teddy Bears were donated to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department and Children’s Assessment Center for distribution to children in crisis.
- Supports Texas artists
- More than $8000 in prize money was awarded
through Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art, a highly respected
juried art show for Texas artists.
