Assisteens® Auxiliary

Assisteens® Auxiliary is open to high school students in ninth through twelfth grade.

If you are interested in joining, please contact Jamie Roll at adminassist@assistanceleaugehou.org for an application or for more information.

There are five meetings per year held the last Sunday of the month, August through April. There is a short business meeting following parliamentary procedure followed by completion of a philanthropic project.

Projects vary each year and are voted on by the membership.

Our philanthropic programs have included:

  • Operation School Bell® - A program that clothes elementary school children in need with school uniforms and hygiene kits. Assisteens assemble hygiene kits and assist with year-end inventory.

  • Celebration of Giving - A program that helps to make Christmas special for patients at Texas Children's Hospital and families at Star of Hope Mission.

  • Senior Care ® Assisteens caroled during the holidays at a retirement/nursing home facility.

  • Assisteens donated, packaged and mailed supplies to US military troops serving in the Middle East .

Assisteens support many of the philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Houston including work in the Thrift Shop, either pricing incoming donations or assisting in the two half price sales during the year, working at the gala and the Celebration of Texas Art held annually at Williams Tower.
