The Thrift Shop, a nonprofit resale store managed by one full-time manager and staffed by volunteers, is owned and operated by Assistance League of Houston. The Houston community, together with Assistance League of Houston members and local merchants, donates a wide variety of new and gently-used items to be offered at affordable prices. These items include good quality:
- clothing for the whole family
- kitchenware and household items
- furniture
- electronics
- books
- jewelry
- antiques, collectibles and much, much more
Proceeds from the Thrift Shop are the major source of funding for our philanthropic programs, which serve the physical, educational and emotional needs of children and adults throughout greater Houston. Every time you donate an item to Assistance League for resale in the Thrift Shop, make a purchase at the Thrift Shop, or make a monetary donation, you help those we serve to reach their full potential.
Donations Always Welcomed
Donations are accepted Monday - Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our donation door located at the West side of the same building as the shop.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept donations of damaged or soiled items, mattresses, non-working appliances, sleeper sofas, chemical/cleaning products, computers, printers, fax machines, or extremely heavy equipment.
PLEASE, do not drop off donations when we are closed!
Assistance League of Houston is a 501(c)(3) corporation and donations are tax deductible.
